LiveVoice (随声译) is an offline, on-device live speech translation app provided by Forest Echo Group. The app records audio only after the user grants microphone permission and starts the floating translator.
Data processed
- Microphone audio: processed on the device for speech recognition and translation.
- Optional system playback audio: processed on the device after the Android system screen and audio capture consent dialog.
- Subtitle text: generated on the device and shown in the floating subtitle window.
- App settings: stored locally on the device.
Model delivery
When installed from Google Play, the app may ask Google Play to download a model asset pack. This delivery is handled by Google Play. The app does not upload microphone audio, subtitle text, translations, or settings as part of model delivery.
Data collection and sharing
The Android app does not request the INTERNET permission. It does not transmit audio, recognized text, translations, or settings to Forest Echo Group or third parties.
Security, retention, and deletion
Audio and text are processed locally and transiently for recognition and translation. App settings and model files may remain in app-private storage. Uninstalling the app removes its app-private data.
Permissions
- Microphone: captures speech selected by the user for translation.
- Display over other apps: shows floating subtitles over videos, meetings, browsers, and other apps.
- Foreground service: keeps translation active while the floating subtitle window is running.
- Media projection: requested only when the user chooses system playback capture.
